5. THE HOLY SPIRIT
5.3 The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
1. Regarding which subject must we obtain knowledge?
1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2. What did Christ give to humanity after His ascension?
Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
3. What were these gifts that Christ gave to humanity?
Ephesians 4:11 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
4. For what purpose were these gifts given to the church?
Ephesians 4:12-15
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the Head, even Christ:
5. What should the work of these gifts in the church lead to?
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
6. How is unity maintained in the diversity of gifts?
1 Corinthians 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
7. For what purpose is the manifestation of this one Spirit given?
1 Corinthians 12:7-10
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
8. Who is it that distributes the gifts of the Spirit?
1 Corinthians 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will.
9. Is it God's plan that all will have the same gifts?
1 Corinthians 12:29-30
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
10. Will the gifts of the Spirit last forever?
1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
11. When will the gifts of the Spirit no longer be needed?
1 Corinthians 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
