2.6 The Love of God
1. What is God according to the Word?
1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
2. How great is God's love for the world?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3. By what act has God particularly demonstrated His love?
1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
4. In what is God well pleased?
Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto Thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retaineth not His anger for ever, because He delighteth in mercy.
5. How are His mercies continually revealed?
Lamentations 3:22, 23
22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.
6. On how many does God shower His blessings?
Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
7. What did Jesus say about those who love Him?
John 14:21 He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.

Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12. With what measure of love should we serve others?
1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth.
16. What can we confidently expect, since God shows us so much love?
Romans 8:32 He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
17. What is God's love able to do for his children?
Deuteronomy 23:5 Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.
18. What will those people do who appreciate God's love?
Psalms 36:7 How excellent is Thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Thy wings.
19. How enduring is God's love for us?
Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
20. Is there anything that can separate the true child of God from the love of God?
Romans 8:38, 39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the Faithful Witness, and the First begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
