4.10 Our Helper and Friend                                     

 

1. What has been opened to the house of David, through Christ?
Zechariah 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.

 

2. Who has borne our sins, and stands ready to help us?
Isaiah 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in His apparel, travelling in the greatness of His strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

 

3. For what purpose did Christ come into this world?
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

 

4. By what means was Christ made a perfect and complete Savior?
Hebrews 2:10 For it became Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

 

5. What is Christ thus enabled to do?
Hebrews 2:18 For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succour them that are tempted.

 

6. How complete is He our Redeemer?
Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.

 

7. From what is He able to keep us?
Jude 24-25
24 Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

 

8. What does He call those who receive Him?
John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you.

 

9. What kind of Friend is He?
Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

 

10. How is a true friend recognized?
Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
