3.10 Righteousness and Life                             

 

1. What is assured to the believer in Christ?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

 

2. What is revealed in the gospel?
Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

 

3. What has Christ brought to light through the gospel?
2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

 

4. How closely are righteousness and life thus united?
Proverbs 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
